Toronto artist AD22 is quickly gaining traction and listeners are tuned in. This time, he's making headlines again and he's back with another hit single and it’s one worth listening to. Fresh off of the success of his last single “Night Shift,” his newest single “Bad for Me” is a well thought out illustration of his past relationships and the inner battle with himself. “The main inspiration behind this song is a pattern I’ve noticed in my past relationships,” AD22 said. “There was always this thought in the back of my head of feeling trapped.” Coined for his euphoric style sound, AD22 captivating sound and flow is one to keep him in the spotlight. The vulnerability he offers on this record stems from the several challenges he faces. “Bad 4 U” is a start for the Canadian artist to explore new sounds for himself. “Bad for Me” is an expansion to the series of singles. Prior to this release, AD22 released “Night Shift,” where he introduces his hypnotic and sophisticated sound. “Night Shift” received tons of press that praised the song, and championed AD22 as next up in his city. Now, “Bad for Me” continues to expand on that original sound and pushes the boundaries of just what AD22 is capable of. “Sonically this record follows the footsteps of ‘Night Shift,' where a new hypnotic sound is introduced,” he says. “‘Bad for Me; elaborates on this and further extends its boundaries to demonstrate a greater potential. ‘Bad for Me' is an expansion to the series of singles. This is the first time I use my vocals with a different beat and different type of music. I will never stop discovering my sound, this is another step in defining who I am as an artist.” “This is the first time I use my vocals with a different beat and different type of music.” Continuing to grow his catalog, AD22 is gearing up to release his debut EP introducing his story to the world. The EP is set to release this summer. His upcoming project will be, “Embracing vulnerability and providing the fans with a much more in-depth insight, the EP highlights AD22’s identity.” As far as big plans for the rest of the year music-wise, AD22 definitely has a lot in the works. “Currently, there has been a lot of new music in the works. We are sitting on a strong backlog of records of all different vibes and we’re just working on organizing them, and cueing them for release,” he says. “There are two projects expected to drop before the year is over. I can’t reveal the titles or much information at this time. However, the debut EP is expected to release in the next few weeks, sometime throughout the summer. The project is two tracks solely focused on highlighting the days everyone looks forward to the most. On the contrary, the second project is expected to release sometime in October. Embracing vulnerability and providing the fans with a much more in-depth insight, the EP highlights AD22’s identity.” Check out AD22’s latest release “Bad for Me” below.
